POST-INTERNSHIP NURSING PROGRAMME OPPORTUNITY
Our Lady of Mercy Mission Hospital invites applications from newly qualified and licensed nurses interested in joining the Post-Internship Nursing Programme to develop clinical competence and further strengthen professional practice.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The programme provides a 6-month structured clinical learning environment with a stipend, where newly qualified nurses work alongside experienced healthcare professionals and undertake supervised nursing responsibilities with guidance and mentorship.
LEARNING & PRACTICE AREAS
Under the supervision of an experienced Nursing Officer, the Nurse will have the opportunity to learn and develop practical competences in the following areas:
- Provision of appropriate nursing care, including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, antenatal care and delivery;
- Administering medication and monitoring for adverse reactions;
- Appropriate referral of patients and clients;
- Facilitating patient admission and discharge processes;
- Maintaining accurate and complete healthcare records and reports;
- Providing health education and counselling to patients and clients;
- Perform other duties within the scope of the role and qualifications.
QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution;
- Must be registered with the nursing council of Kenya and possess a current license;
- Must have less than one (1) year of work experience;
- Possess basic computer skills
- Recommendation letter from a clergy
